Substance Mis-Use Recovery Support

Recovery & Resilience Support Group: Living from the Inside Out

Join us every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 PM at the Community Center in the Meadow Mall for an open, confidential support group for anyone recovering from substance mis-use. Whether your substance of choice was heroin, alcohol, cocaine or any combination, you’ll find the support and guidance that will help you achieve contentment and reduce craving.

Our program helps you discover your innate health and wisdom. You are not broken, and you don’t need to be fixed. You can discover how to live a happy and contented life without substances or medications. Even people who have dual diagnoses–mental health issues and substance abuse issues–have benefited immensely from Health Realization, a program that is based on Sydney Banks’ Three Principles of Mind, Thought, and Consciousness. In a nutshell, your thoughts create your experiences; nothing else.

We support one another in learning how to live each moment of each day from the INSIDE OUT–operating from the deep certainty that ALL of our feelings come from OUR THOUGHTS in the moment. Feelings of insecurity, anxiety, frustration, anger, or craving can’t actually be CAUSED by anyone or any circumstances. These feelings come from our thinking ABOUT circumstances or things people say. Once we realize (and practice) letting go of thoughts that create uncomfortable feelings, we experience new thoughts coming into our minds at a speed of 8 thoughts per second. All we have to do is let bad thoughts go, and new (often better) thoughts will replace them.

When we are struggling to solve problems or cope with difficult circumstances, if we let our anxious thoughts dissipate, insights and creativity will flow into us from our inborn wisdom and from the universal mind, which some people refer to as spirit, God, or nature.
